Taking into account the importance of raw material and consumer factors, two groups of industries are distinguished: • predominantly raw material oriented: production of cement, asbestos-cement and slate products, refractories, glass, ceramic pipes, lime, etc.; • primarily consumer-oriented: production of concrete, reinforced concrete products and structures, soft roofs, sanitary and technical products, etc. Enterprises related to raw materials have a full production cycle (for example, production of cement, glass, bricks). A number of enterprises in the areas of consumption work on imported semi-finished products (concrete and reinforced concrete factories, enterprises producing sanitary and technical products).
The terms of implementation of the latest achieved scientific and technical progress significantly depend on the level of development of the construction industry itself and the pace of construction. The development of production technology and technical progress in all branches of the national economy are closely related to the constructive improvement of construction facilities. Only in new, rationally built structures can the perfection of technological processes in all branches of the economy be fully manifested.
5. Structural organization Considering the structure of the construction industry, it should be noted that it has various structural aspects: • industry structure (two areas are distinguished: the industry of construction materials and the totality of construction and installation organizations that carry out construction on construction sites) • functional structure (implementation of production connections, service connections and management); • territorial structure (taxonomic units of various ranks, starting from points of the construction industry to regions of the regional type and higher, connected by production ties)
